Experience
I started practicing yoga on the roof of the University of Texas at Austin’s student center when I was 18 years old. I couldn’t afford classes, I was stressed, and I thought if I could do a 15 minute YouTube video all my problems would be solved. It did and didn’t work. Yoga isn’t a magical cure all that erases reality; quite the opposite—learning to find the strength to breathe through tension, to listen deeply to my self, these metaphors from the mat brought me from almost dropping out of UT my freshman year to my current position as a doctoral student at UW-Madison. I’m really grateful for cultivating my own practice and continuing to learn and listen to those around me.
Also, I dunno, I just really love a good stretch.

Why I Love Dragonfly
I am borderline addicted to these classes, and I have to believe there is something they pump into the classroom (or perhaps those cool refreshing towels I’m in love with?) But more importantly, I can be pretty sensitive to heat, and Dragonfly and the instructors do a great job of being mindful of the temperature and people’s energy.
Little Known Fact About Me
I am a freelance illustrator and prints of my art can be found on every continent—at one point even Antarctica!
