How did you get started at Dfly?
I recently retired from playing roller derby (8 years!) and needed something new that was physical and challenging, but a little more self-paced and easier on my body. A friend volunteered to go with me to my first class, and I loved it. Dfly is perfect because there is a wide range of class times and class types, so I can choose a class that fits my schedule and what my body needs at that time.
What is/was your yoga/BarreAmped experience before Dfly?
I had gone to a few yoga classes here and there, but never did it regularly, and had never tried hot yoga.
What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
I love how refreshed I feel after, whether it’s a relaxing Yin class or a Power Up class that totally kicked my butt. I have a couple old injuries that act up from time to time, and I feel those less and less the more regularly I go to classes.
Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
Absolutely. I feel more balanced in general and look forward to taking an hour out of my day where I don’t have to think about work or how many things I have to get done or anything else that may be bothering me. I’m stronger too!
How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I usually go 4 days a week and do a mix of Flow, Yin, and Power Up classes. Of those classes, I don’t think I can pick a favorite! They all give me something different and the instructors are lovely.
Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you.
I think of physical activity as a form of self-care and meditation. My mood is just better and life seems easier when I’m active. Dfly has been so welcoming and warm (literally!) I’m really glad to have it. I love the feeling I get when I can get into a pose that is challenging for me, and I love seeing what I can do with time and practice.
