I started at DragonFly in November 2022 and I didn’t have any Yoga experience when I started.
I enjoy the thoughtful/helpfulness of the instructors and the nonjudgemental space. I also really enjoy the hot yoga classes.
I have experienced several improvements to my wellbeing. 1). Increase flexibility 2). Reduced back and hip pain 3). Increase ability to calm my mind and move intentionally with my breath. It has been a wonderful learning experience about how being present and listening to my body does reward my overall mental and physical health.
I attend 4-5 times per week. My favorite classes are Monday night (Middleton) 60 minute Slow Flow and then I move right into 60 minutes of Yin, so two hours. I very much enjoy Friday morning and Sunday evening Yin in Fitchburg.
Other tidbits: I have historically thought that good workouts only came in the form of gym (cardio and weight) training. After years of only working out in gyms, it took a toll on my body (joints, back, hips, etc.) so I decided to give yoga a try to have a more holistic gentle approach to wellness. It has been the best decision I’ve made and I am so disappointed in myself for not trying it sooner. I’m a wife, mother, grandmother of 4 and a life-long learner and hope to be able to do a headstand one day. This is a very nice surprise – thanks for recognizing me.
