How did you get started at Dfly?
I had a friend who wanted to check out the studio! We went to a class together and it was different from any normal yoga class I had taken with the sequencing and heat. It was really challenging at first but got me hooked!
What was your yoga or barre experience before Dfly?
I started practicing yoga about 6 years ago at a local studio. I took a lot of slow-flow classes, full/new moon yoga, and classes at home. During the pandamic, my practice fell off for a bit, but Dragonfly got me started again! Dragonfly has completely transformed my yoga experience and abilities through a variety of types of classes.
What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
Never in my life would I think I would be saying the heat and the sweat, but it makes me feel so accomplished and strong! The instructors are all amazing and take the time to get to know you, answer any questions I have, and help me develop my practice. It has become such a meditative time where I get out of my head and don’t think or stress about anything else going on in my life.
Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
My total well-being has drastically improved since starting at Dragonfly. Taking these classes have helped me to generally be more active daily, and has led me to begin weight lifting to strengthen my body to be able to help develop my practice. The mental benefits have been life-changing as well, I have deeper levels of peace and can more easily find calm in the chaos of life. It has been SO empowering to see and feel the growth that I am making in my practice.
How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
Currently, I have the 4 classes a month pass, I wish I lived closer to do more. So no matter what I go weekly, and utilize the pop-up classes when they have. I frequent Kay’s Sunday fire fusion class, which has the same sequence weekly, which allows me to see and feel the growth in my practice.
Instructor Kay Lera: “Jesse that comes to fire fusion almost EVERY Sunday. She calmly approaches her practice with zeal and honesty. Taking just what she needs on the mat and remaining curious all throughout practice. She brings a quiet positive energy to our community and is so appreciated as a part of our Dragonfly family -especially our Sunday fire, fusion family!”
