How did you get started at Dfly?
I first joined Dragonfly in 2018. I was searching for a new creative and athletic outlet and was ready for a fun challenge that would keep me accountable and strong.
What is/was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
I’ve taken Corepower and Barre classes in the past, but when I moved back to Madison one winter, the Fitchburg location quickly became a home away from home for me. I couldn’t wait to get in that warm room, get in the zone and sweat the worries of the day away.
What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
I enjoy so many things about Dfly. I’m inspired by the instructors who bring out the best in me and the familiar faces I see in class, I love that we all show up for different reasons, but when the class starts we share the same space and intensity, leaving the room a better version of ourselves than when we entered.
Have you experienced changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
Totally. I’m more comfortable and confident in my body, I’ve grown as an athlete and tried things I probably wouldn’t have done on my own. I’ve been able to share my love of Dfly with family and friends who have joined me at class and it’s overall just been a really healthy addition to my life, mentally and physically.
How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I attend classes a few times a week and also happily partake in the occasional holiday challenge. The Up classes are my favorite and there are so many instructors who make the classes the highlight of my week. Shout out to all the staff – especially Shawn, Jake, Carly, Carrie and Tiffany who were some of my first instructors at the OG Fitchburg location, who played big roles in making me fall in love with this wonderful place!
Instructor Carly Schneider: “I love Sara. She brings a quiet and fierce presence to class. She shows up and is dedicated to her practice, especially in Circuit Up’s. We’re so glad to have you as part of this community, Sara!”
