I started at Dragonfly after a friend asked me to go to a class with him to try it out. The membership rates were about to increase and we thought it would be a great time to join!
I started doing yoga in high school with my mom and some of her friends. It was a really wonderful way to decompress and connect each week. In college, I was on the figure skating team, which kept me really active. I enjoyed taking barre, kickboxing, and spin classes to supplement my skating. I also taught barre and strength classes for a while until Covid hit. Post Covid, I joined a hot HIIT gym. I loved the heat but my body was sore all the time! Hot yoga was just what my body needed.
I appreciate that Dragonfly has so many class options and knowledgeable instructors. I try to go to class 3-4 times a week. I especially like Nassim’s flow & lift and Colleen’s flow and yin. The rhythm of their classes helps me to push through the hard parts and their gentle cues remind me to listen to my body. I know I will always feel accomplished, strong, and happy after class. Going to class is the easiest way to boost my mood!
I feel like a part of the community at Dragonfly, from chatting with the instructors to being greeted by name when I walk in, it always fills my cup!
