My yoga experience before Dfly started in 2015 by answering an ad in our local paper saying they were welcoming new people to join Lisa in her yoga class. I finally got up the nerve and called. It was held in a meeting room in a local hotel not far from my house. It lasted for a few classes until her doctor said she had to retire so that was that. From there the DeForest Community Center decided to hire a yoga instructor and offer once a week classes. They hired Gary, then Tresha and now Martha is teaching. I learned a lot from Marsha, but every instructor has taught me confidence in myself and that has made me a stronger person.
My start here was with a gift card from my son and daughter-in-law for Mother’s Day 2017. My daughter-in-law Holli, finally said to me in December 2017, “You can sign-up for a $20 unlimited month for a trial run.” I took that as a sign I should go and use the gift card. That is how my journey started here and I am very thankful for that
What I enjoy the most besides the class itself, is the friends I’ve made. I come early just for the conversation and learning something new about my fellow yogis. They all have helped me grow as a person inside and out. If I am not feeling the best or have health issues the staff is always willing to help and listen. They all are special people. They call you by name as you enter like you’re coming home.
I attend 7 to 8 classes a week and I love each one for itself. They are all my favorite for that day and that goes for the instructors as well!
Thank you!
If it wasn’t for my supportive family, this journey would not be possible. With two bouts of lung cancer, I never thought I could do what I am today. You never say never!
I dedicate this to my husband and best friend Mike, who has been my biggest cheerleader and says I can do anything I put my mind to! I love you.
Instructor Kelly Perna: “Choosing Cece as Yogi of the Month is spot on! She expresses a passion about her practice that is contagious which is likely why she has fostered many friendships in the studio with both staff and members. Cece is a truly authentic, caring, and giving person and nurtures those amazing qualities in herself by staying committed to her yoga classes. I feel so lucky to have crossed paths with Cece. Side note…if there was a competition for owning the most Dragonfly retail items she would win that recognition as well!”
