Q: How did you get started at DFly?
A: I started a year ago at DFly when I saw you in my neighborhood and attended sporadically, primarily Yin classes. I had not done any exercise for years and needed that time to meditate and activate my muscles again.
Q: What is/was your yoga/BarreAmped experience before DFly?
A: I have practiced yoga throughout my adult life with many interruptions in practice. I had never taken hot yoga classes or BarreAmped classes before, and was very intimidated by the idea (I googled what to wear and how to survive hot yoga classes when I first signed up!)! After a lot of research, I summoned the courage to jump into a Flow class.
Q: What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
A: I enjoy feeling healthy and energetic again thanks to Dfly classes. I am stronger and more peaceful – I combine classes and have enjoyed shopping in my closet for clothes that haven’t fit me in years!
Q: Have you experienced any changed in your total well-being since taking classes?
A: I have been healthier and much more focused since I started doing the 30-day challenges.
Q: How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
A: I love so many of the classes. I especially love to combine BarreAmped with Yoga Up and follow with a Flow or Yin.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share?
A: In January, I signed up to go on a trip to Rwanda with my church but I was worried that I was too weak and unhealthy to do well in Africa, so I turned to Dragonfly for help. I started going to daily classes and then found out that there were 30-day challenges. It ended up really helping me form the habit of daily exercise. I was surprised that the simple act of putting a magnet up on the board would be so helpful to motivate me! When I completed the first challenge, I felt that I was still on my way to becoming healthy, so I started another one, and then a third 30-day challenge brought me straight up to the day I left for Rwanda. I was feeling healthy, strong, focused – and happy! I am so grateful to the encouraging teachers and the balance of strengthening, flexibility and mediation that is offered. That was really key for me!
Instructor Bekah Gant: “Amy exudes joyful energy not only as she practices, but in the spaces surrounding her practice. She shows up with a smile and a can-do attitude that is truly inspiring! Amy is the embodiment of the Dragonfly spirit. Congratulations, Amy!”
